How to Connect Shockwafe Wireless to Wi-Fi for AirPlay 2 and Firmware Upgrades (iOS)

Connect your soundbar to Wi-Fi to enable AirPlay 2 streaming and over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates.

💡 For on‑screen guidance, install the Nakamichi Remote App. It walks you through the Wi‑Fi pairing process and alerts you to firmware updates.

What You’ll Need:

​

  • A 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi network with internet access

  • An iPhone or iPad running the latest version of iOS, connected to your home Wi-Fi network

  • Shockwafe Wireless, set to any input other than Bluetooth (e.g. TV). Press BT once to switch to AirPlay if the system is in Bluetooth mode

 

Steps to Connect With iOS Device:

  • Open Wi-Fi settings on your iOS device.

  • Scroll down to “SET UP NEW AIRPLAY SPEAKER”, and tap Shockwafe Wireless.

  • Select your home network and tap Next. 

  • Enter your Wi-Fi password if prompted. Shockwafe Wireless will attempt to connect to the Wi-Fi network. Tap Done to complete setup.

  • Once connected, tap the AirPlay symbol in the Control Center or from your preferred streaming app to start casting.

Troubleshooting Wi-Fi Connection Issues

 

Shockwafe Wireless cannot connect to enterprise Wi-Fi networks which require login through a web page.

To check if Shockwafe Wireless is connected to Wi-Fi, press the INFO button 5 times. Your network name should appear. Otherwise, “NO WIFI” will be displayed.

If you are connecting to a new network or have changed your Wi-Fi password, perform a Wi-Fi reset.

 

Wi‑Fi Reset Procedure

  1. On the SWW remote, press SETUP until “Wi‑Fi RESET” appears. Press ENTER.

  2. Press â–º (Right) to toggle Yes.

  3. Press ENTER again to confirm.

  4. Retry the connection steps above.

Notes:

  • If your iOS device has never connected to the selected Wi-Fi network before, you will be prompted to enter the network password. 

  • If you still cannot see Shockwafe Wireless under “SET UP NEW AIRPLAY SPEAKER...”, unplug the soundbar from power, then plug it back in.Perform a Wi-Fi Reset (see above) and retry the pairing process.
