Pair Modular Dual-Opposing 8” Subwoofer Expansion to DRAGON

Firmware 3.X adds the ability to pair 12” subwoofers, as well as up to 4 subwoofer cabinets with your DRAGON Home Surround Sound System.

Upgrade your firmware to Ver 3.X (For systems with Dual-Opposing 8” Subwoofers only)

Check if your system needs a firmware upgrade. If required, use the USB drive included with your Modular Dual-Opposing 8” Subwoofer Expansion to upgrade the system. After a successful firmware upgrade, perform a factory reset.

Refer to the Quick Start Guide for detailed instructions.

Set the appropriate subwoofer configuration type

  1. Press “HOME 🏠” to open the On-Screen Display (OSD).

  2. Navigate to System tab > ‘Subwoofers Manual Pairing’.

  3. Press ◀️▶️ on your remote to ‘Choose from 3 options’ and select your setup’s subwoofer configuration:

    • 8” + 12” Subs: For a system with a mix of cabinet types.

    • 12” Subs Only: For a system with 12" subwoofers only.

    • 8” Subs Only: For a system with dual-opposing 8" subwoofers only.

💡 Choose the correct configuration type. If you change subwoofer configuration later, you will need to re-pair the right dual-opposing 8” subwoofer.

Check pairing status of your original Dual-Opposing 8” Subwoofers (for applicable systems only)

If your system came with FW2.6 and below, after upgrading your firmware to FW3.X or later, re-pair the existing right subwoofer before pairing new subwoofers.

1. Ensure the affected subwoofer is powered on. Press and hold the pairing button behind the subwoofer until the blue LED blinks rapidly.

💡 The subwoofer will stay in pairing mode for 120 seconds. Complete the remaining steps within this timeframe.

2. Press and hold the INPUT button on top of the main unit for 8 seconds.

The main unit will display ‘WIRELESS PAIR’ on the LED display and search for a subwoofer to pair.

Once successful, the OSD will show that the subwoofer has been connected. A solid blue LED on the subwoofer also indicates successful pairing with the main unit. Keep this configuration screen open.

Additional Notes

When a pair of dual-opposing 8" subwoofers is added to a system with dual 12” subwoofers,

  • The 12” subwoofer(s) will always be assigned as subwoofer 1 or 2.

  • The original 8" subwoofers will always be assigned as subwoofer 3 or 4.

If the system has 3 or 4 of the same subwoofer type connected, the number assigned to each cabinet will generally be in the order the subwoofers were paired. The assigned number does not impact system performance.

⚠️ The following subwoofer configurations are not supported by DRAGON:

  • 3 x 12” with 1 x 8” Subwoofers

  • 1 x 12” with 3 x 8” Subwoofers
